Tomorrow, Findus, there's gonna be a Danish - Swedish - German cartoon from 2005. It is the third feature film in the Pettson and Findus series based on the original by Sven Nordqvist . Directed by Jørgen Lerdam and Anders Sørensen .

action

Findus really wants to see Santa Claus. Pettersson writes a wish list with him. Findus wants a surprise and that Santa Claus will come over. He leaves the third wish open. They store the wish list overnight in an igloo made of snowballs with a burning candle. The next morning the note disappeared. On an excursion Findus meets a postman with a fake beard, whom he frees from a predicament. The postman hands him an express mail for Pettersson. On the way back Findus meets Gustavsson, who tells him that there is no Santa Claus. Findus returns home excitedly to Petersson, from whom he makes a promise that Santa will definitely come over. Petersson feverishly thinks about how to make sure that his hangover won't be disappointed. To make matters worse, Gustavsson turns up, hands Petersson pieces of wood and tells him that he absolutely has to carve 100 Santa Clauses out of them by Christmas. Otherwise Singhild would be offended.

Pettersson first tries to build a machine that is supposed to represent Santa Claus. In doing so, however, he comes under pressure and first argues with Singhild and then with Findus. Findus initially hides under the house with the Muklas, who always steal things from Petersson. He wants to teach Pettersson a lesson and goes to the attic overnight while Pettersson looks for him. When he notices that his master is worried about him, he decides to give his last wish to Pettersson. He wishes that an invention of his would finally work. The next morning he finds the postman's beard in his bed and he gets on with Petterson again.

Pettson and Findus go to get a Christmas tree together. They meet the forest ranger who is bored. They suggest that he could carve Santa Clauses, which he enthusiastically accepts. Then the two get into a snow storm, but are taken home by the postman. He leaves them a catalog and Findus finally hands Petersson the express delivery. This is a special motor oil that is also suitable for Santa Claus machines.

Overnight, Pettersson works feverishly on the machine. Even Gustavsson, who has a guilty conscience, comes to his aid. When his Santa Claus machine is finished, however, a Mukla steals a piece. Findus goes and exchanges it for Pettersson's hat. With the postman's beard, Pettersson completes the machine. Now Christmas Eve can come. He and Findus make themselves comfortable. But instead of the machine, the real Santa Claus (the postman) comes and distributes gifts. In the end, the whole village celebrates Christmas.

background

After Pettson and Findus (1999) and Neues von Pettson and Findus (2000), the feature film, first published in 2005, is the third feature film adaptation of the classic children's book by Sven Nordqvist . In this case it is a Christmas film . In contrast to the first two film adaptations, which are made up of several books by Nordqvist, Morgen, Findus ,'s wird's will be the first direct film adaptation of the children's book. For the first time, computer animation was used alongside traditional animation techniques.

publication

The film was released on November 2, 2006. The film was released on DVD on September 28, 2007, in a Premium Edition and a Christmas Edition together with the radio play on CD. The only differences between the two editions are the different packaging and an iron-on transfer that was included with the Premium Edition. The film had its television premiere on Christmas Eve 2008 on ZDF .

criticism

Tomorrow, Findus, there will be something like its predecessors, a film that is particularly noticeable due to its cozy and cozy atmosphere. The story is told calmly and without any particular dangers. The dramaturgy and plot are designed for children. However, in contrast to the earlier, more anecdotal films or the animated series, the length of the film is a challenge for the younger audience, as is the “magical elements that sometimes mix reality and illusion”. Compared to its two predecessors, it is considered a weaker film.

“Third cartoon adventure after the popular children's books, which tells the leisurely story in a nostalgic look with loving attention to detail. A lovable story for the supporters of the sympathetic unequal pair of friends. "

“Of the previous 'Findus' parts, this one is the weakest, but it's still nice for fans - even if it's only because of the tiny Mukla trolls, which, only visible to Findus, haunt the picture as always . "
