Neighbors are annoying there is a German comedy film by Peter Weck from 1970 .

action

Otto Sauser bought a row house in the housing estate and is now renting it to three other families. Ms. Stenhoff with her small children Stefan and Bübchen as well as the almost adult heartthrob Jürgen move into house number 1, District Councilor Springbock and his wife live in number 2, Otto Sauser himself lives alone in number 3 and butcher's guild master Hirnbiss lives with his wife and young daughter Sieglinde-Dorothee in number 4.

There is soon a great quarrel between the tenants. Stefan and Bübchen like to play pranks, break through walls to the neighboring house and break a water pipe, as a result of which the entire street is soon under water. To the delight of Sieglinde-Dorothee, however, plumber Hans Wurst soon appears and not only repairs the cables of the Hirnbiss and Springbock families, but also falls in love with Sieglinde-Dorothee.

At Bübchen's request, Otto Sauser buys a pair of rabbits. Soon, however, the rabbits have boy and boy brings new animals to Otto, whose house now looks like a zoo. In addition to several birds, a turtle, guinea pigs, rabbits and mice, two animals in particular cause particular trouble among the neighbors: Otto's roosters wake the residents early, and the new dog that Bübchen organized is named by Otto Max. Whenever Otto calls the dog, Mr. Hirnbiss feels addressed. Finally, the tenants Hirnbiss and Springbock against Otto Sauser come to court. However, the judge does not fulfill the tenant's request that Otto get rid of his animals and rejects the case because it is insignificant.

Meanwhile, the Stenhoff family has other problems. Jürgen's constantly changing love affairs in particular cause annoyance. Stefan, on the other hand, has problems at school and receives a tutor. The young student Gaby not only encourages Stefan to get better at school, but also to dress in exemplary fashion because he is so in love and to use hair lotion and perfume for the first time. Gaby, however, is more interested in Jürgen, who is the same age. When he is sick and all the love affairs turn up at his bedside, she pretends that he has the Hong Kong flu . The young women flee and Jürgen is soon cured of his superficial behavior. He and Gaby become a couple.

There is constant guerrilla warfare among the neighbors as to who has what best, fastest or greatest. In addition to a competition for the largest lawnmower that the Hirnbiss family can win, there is also competition when planning a vacation. The Springbok and Hirnbiss families claim to have chosen exotic destinations for their vacation. In reality, they both booked an inexpensive camping holiday with Otto. Both families meet at the campsite and also see mother Stenhoff with Stefan again, who regularly go on camping holidays. When they are happy that at least Otto is not there with his animals, an animal transporter suddenly appears. Otto and Bübchen get out and announce that there is an eight-year-old Berber lion in the car , Bübchen's newest pet. The neighbors react in horror. Thanks to a tip from Stefans, Jürgen and Gaby stayed at home. The street is deserted. Both sunbathe in peace on the lawn and consider which of the four properties they will spend their next days on.
