Walter Traut

Walter Traut (born September 19, 1907 in Innsbruck , † September 6, 1979 in Munich ) was an Austrian film production and line producer .

Life

An experienced skier, Traut joined the staff of mountain filmmaker Arnold Fanck in 1927 . He worked as a stuntman in The Big Leap , as well as in storms over Mont Blanc . He then joined in the technical area and held several positions, such as a manager in the blue light or as a camera assistant in SOS Iceberg , sometimes as cameraman .

From the beginning of the 1940s he organized film production in various functions. Traut worked particularly often with Leni Riefenstahl . After the war he was repeatedly involved in Paul May's projects, especially in his 08/15 trilogy. He died six weeks after accidentally drinking an anti-stain remover containing tetrachloride. Traut is buried in the New South Cemetery in Munich .
