Louis Jordan Beyer (born May 19, 2000 in Kempen ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach since his youth and is a young German national player.

Career

Beyer started at SV Thomasstadt in his home country. As a player in the D youth team (U13), he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf's junior performance center in 2012 . For the 2015/16 season, the change to the second B-youth (U16) from Borussia Mönchengladbach took place . In the 2016/17 season he moved up to the U17, with whom he played in the B-Junior Bundesliga . For the 2017/18 season, Beyer moved up to the U19, for which he had already played a game in the A-Juniors-Bundesliga in the preseason .

For the 2018/19 season, Beyer moved up to the professional squad under head coach Dieter Hecking . Under Hecking, he made his professional debut in the first round of the DFB Cup . In September 2018 Beyer received his first professional contract, which is dated until the end of June 2022. Beyer played 9 games in the Bundesliga over the entire season , starting 8 times. He also played 4 times in the second team in the fourth-class Regionalliga West and once in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga.

In the first half of the 2019/20 season , Beyer only made three substitutions in the Bundesliga under the new head coach Marco Rose . In addition, he played 3 times in the regional league team. During the winter break, Beyer moved to the second division Hamburger SV , coached by Dieter Hecking, on loan until the end of the season , with Jan Gyamerah ( broken fibula ) and Josha Vagnoman ( broken metatarsus) missing two right- backs for a long time. Before the season break, which became necessary in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic , Beyer played all 7 games in the starting line-up. When the season continued in mid-May with the 26th matchday, Vagnoman returned to the right-back position. Beyer moved into central defense alongside Timo Letschert , but lost this place after a poor performance to Rick van Drongelen and sat on the bench for the first time on matchday 27. After that, Beyer was only used sporadically. In total he played 11 times for HSV (9 times from the start), which missed promotion to 4th place. At the end of his contract, Beyer left the club.

Trivia

Beyer's nickname was Louis until he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach . Since there was a namesake in his team with Louis Hiepen , he was henceforth called Jordan . He got his middle name from his basketball-loving father based on Michael Jordan .
