Keanan Bennetts (born March 9, 1999 in London ) is an English football player . The left winger is under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach .

Personal

Bennetts is the son of a German mother and a Nigerian father. In addition to the English, he also has German and Nigerian citizenship .

Career

society

Bennetts went through the youth academy of Tottenham Hotspur and completed his first senior game there on October 15, 2015 for the club's U23 in Premier League 2. For the 2018/19 season he moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach . Although part of the professional squad, he initially only played for the second team in the Regionalliga West and played 22 games in his first year. Bennetts made his debut in the Bundesliga on June 16, 2020, when he came on as a substitute in the home game against VfL Wolfsburg shortly before the end when the score was 3-0. His contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach runs until 2022.

National team

Bennetts started his national team career with the German U15 national team , for which he played two games in 2014. But then he decided on the English national team and played there in the following years for the U16 , U17 and U19 . Bennetts has not yet played any international matches in the senior division.
