Ken Reichel (born December 19, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German soccer player who is under contract with VfL Osnabrück . His main position is that of left back .
Career
Reichel started playing soccer at the age of five and completed the higher youth leagues with Tasmania Gropiusstadt in his hometown of Berlin. In January 2005 he moved to the second team of Hamburger SV , for which he initially only acted as a substitute player, but then became a regular player in the 2006/07 season.
For the 2007/08 season Reichel went to league competitor Eintracht Braunschweig , where he was used in the first team in addition to games in the reserve and made the breakthrough in the 2008/09 season. From 2008 to 2011 he played with Eintracht Braunschweig in the 3rd division , from which he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with his club as champions in 2011 . In the following season, he was promoted to the Bundesliga , and Reichel's contract period was extended to 2016. In the year he was promoted to the first division, the 26-year-old was on the pitch for Eintracht 25 times from kick-off to the end, then he injured his knee in the game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and was out until the end of the season.
Reichel made his Bundesliga debut on August 10, 2013 (1st matchday) in the 0-1 defeat in the home game against Werder Bremen . According to a report by Spiegel Online, Reichel was the fastest Bundesliga player in the first half of the 2013/14 season: On matchday 9 in the 2: 3 home defeat against FC Schalke 04 , he reached the top speed of 35.53 km / h. He scored his only Bundesliga goal on March 29, 2014 (28th matchday) in a 1-1 away draw against Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Since the 2014/15 season, Reichel has regularly led Braunschweig as deputy captain on the field. In July 2017, Reichel was officially appointed team captain of Eintracht as successor to Marcel Correia .
During the summer break of 2018, he joined Union Berlin . On the left defensive flank Reichel was set under head coach Urs Fischer and missed only a few games. Together with his teammates on the defensive he had by far the fewest goals and could be with the Iron over the relegation for the first time in the Bundesliga rise. In the top German division, however, Christopher Lenz was preferred to him and Reichel only made seven top division games.
In the summer of 2020, his expired contract was finally no longer extended, but the Berliner found a new employer in the second division VfL Osnabrück in mid-August .
