Marco Knaller (born March 26, 1987 in Villach ) is an Austrian football goalkeeper .

Career

Knaller began his career at FC Admira Wacker Mödling , where he went through all youth stations and signed his first professional contract at the age of 17. After the club went bankrupt , he moved to FC Lustenau 07 for the 2007/08 season . After the season he moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern . There he became the third goalkeeper for the professionals and received match practice in the second team. On July 1, 2012, he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga promoted Wolfsberger AC . For the 2013/14 season he went to SV Sandhausen . His contract originally ran until 2018. In August 2017, Knaller joined FC Ingolstadt 04 .

After three years in Ingolstadt, he returned to Austria for the 2020/21 season and moved to the second division club FC Wacker Innsbruck , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2022.

family

Knaller comes from a football-loving family. His father Wolfgang Knaller came up with over 700 professional league games. Marco's uncle Walter Knaller was also active in professional football for years and is currently the coach of the U-15s of SK Rapid Wien . Christoph Knaller , the son of Walter and Marco's cousin, was also a professional football player.
