1994 European Under-18 Football Championship
The 10th U-18 European Football Championship was held in Spain from July 24 to 31, 1994 . The winner was Portugal by a 4: 1 victory on penalties to Germany . Defending champions England , like Austria and Switzerland, could not qualify.

The eight qualified teams are divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team plays each other once. The two group winners reach the final, while the runners-up play for third place. The third group play for the fifth European starting place at the junior soccer world championship 1995 .

Germany played with: Simon Jentzsch - Sebastian Hahn - Mustafa Doğan , Marcell Fensch - Marcus Wedau , Carsten Hinz, Frank Gerster , Michael Bochtler - Lars Ricken - Marco Küntzel (81st André Schuster ), Kai Michalke (75th Roland Regenbogen)
Frank Gerster had put the DFB Juniors in the lead in the 34th minute, while Viana scored the equalizer for the Portuguese who won the penalty shoot-out in the 64th minute.
In addition to Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and Spain qualified for the 1995 World Junior Cup .
