The 2nd U-18 European Football Championship was held in Finland from May 21-30, 1982 . The winner was Scotland by a 3: 1 victory over Czechoslovakia . Defending champion Germany and Austria were eliminated in the preliminary round of the final tournament. The Switzerland could not qualify. The GDR juniors did not take part in the 2nd edition of this competition.
mode
The 16 qualified teams were divided into four groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team played each other once. The group winners qualified for the semi-finals. The semi-final winners reached the final, the losers in the semi-finals played for third place.

For the first time, Scotland have won the European Under-18s.
The winning eleven: Rae - Beaumont, Bowman, Dick, McGinnis, McStay, Mackay, Nevinx, Philliben, Rennie, Rice
Philliben, Nevinx, Mackay / Kula scored the goals in the final.
In addition to Scotland, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia qualified for the 1983 Junior World Cup .
