Gerd Dais (born August 11, 1963 in Heidelberg ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach .
In his youth Dais played at the clubs SG Heidelberg-Kirchheim , VfR Mannheim and after the youth at Karlsruher SC , FC 08 Homburg , SV Sandhausen and SV Waldhof Mannheim . As a trainer he worked for the clubs SG Dielheim , FC Nöttingen (twice), FV Lauda and SV Sandhausen.
From February 2011, he worked at SVS for the third time. First he was the team's assistant coach in the mid-1990s and returned as head coach in October 2005. He led SV Sandhausen from the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg to the 3rd division . He was released in February 2010. Since his successors Frank Leicht and Pawel Dotschew remained hapless, he returned to the Sandhausen coaching chair in February 2011. In the 2011/2012 season he was promoted to the second Bundesliga as a coach with SV Sandhausen. When the club finished last in the table after 14 games with only nine points and most recently six defeats in a row, he was given another leave of absence in November 2012.
From January 2, 2013, Dais worked for the Stuttgarter Kickers . After ten league games with the relegation-threatened third division club, he was released on April 7, 2013 after the team had six defeats and only two wins under his leadership. On April 14, 2016, Dais became a coach at FC Nöttingen , the contract term was set up until the end of the season. Together the promotion from the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg to the Regionalliga Südwest was achieved.
On July 7, 2016, Dais was hired by SV Waldhof Mannheim as a coach. There he followed Kenan Kocak , who in turn moved to Dais' former club SV Sandhausen. Dais once ended his active football career at Waldhof Mannheim. After SV Waldhof's 3-1 defeat against the 2nd team of VfB Stuttgart on matchday 14 of the 2017/18 season, he was given leave on October 16, 2017. His successor was initially Michael Fink , until Bernhard Trares took over the coaching position in January 2018 .
