Railway cycle path

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first railway cycle route in Germany runs between Aachen and Cologne .

This railway cycle path should not be confused with a cycle path on disused tracks . In addition to the high-speed route Cologne – Aachen , a 92 km long cycle path was signposted on dirt roads and side roads along the railway line .

On the subject of trains, there are nine stations with information boards on the core between Düren and Horrem . A competition has been developed for children. An accompanying brochure was also created for this purpose. At all stations you can change to the trains of the lines RE1 ( NRW-Express ), RE9 ( Rhein-Sieg-Express ) and the S-Bahn S13 / S19.

The railway cycle path was created at the suggestion of the German Transport Club and opened on June 1, 2008.
