Career

From 1992 Michael Fink played for VfB Stuttgart and initially went through the youth teams successfully. With the B-youth of VfB he won the German championship in 1999. In the A-youth he was u. a. together with Kevin Kurányi Junior Cup Winner 2001 . Later he played in the 2nd team of VfB in the Regionalliga Süd . In the 2004/05 season , Arminia Bielefeld brought him to the Bundesliga . While he only completed eleven games in the first division in the first season, he played 33 games in the following season and scored four goals. He also scored a goal in the DFB Cup .

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season , Michael Fink moved to Eintracht Frankfurt . There he played regularly in defensive midfield. In the DFB Cup quarter-finals, he scored the first goal of the Frankfurt team against Kickers Offenbach after eleven minutes (final score 3: 0). At Eintracht Frankfurt, together with Ioannis Amanatidis, he was the player with the most appearances this season (32 games, 3 goals). He scored the goal of the month for January 2008 with an overhead kick in the friendly against SC Paderborn 07 .

For the 2009/10 season Michael Fink moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul . The midfielder scored the first goal of the 2009/10 season in the Turkcell Süper Lig against city rivals Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor .

In the winter of 2010/11 he moved back to Germany on loan and signed with Borussia Mönchengladbach , but returned to Istanbul after the season was over. Because of the foreigner regulation in the Turkish league, he was sorted out there and was no longer part of the professional squad for the 2011/12 season. In July 2011, Fink moved from Beşiktaş to league rivals Samsunspor for a year .

After being out of a club in July 2012, Fink was signed by the German second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue in December 2012 . He got a contract until 2014.

From 2015 to 2017 Fink was active as a playing assistant coach, and in the 2016/17 season also as team captain at SV Waldhof Mannheim . In the 2017/18 season he ended his professional career, switched to the Hessian Association League as a player for FC Hanau 93 and extended his contract as assistant coach at SV Waldhof Mannheim until 2019. On October 16, 2017, SV Waldhof Mannheim put its head coach on leave and sporting director Gerd Dais with immediate effect after the team had only achieved 21 of 39 possible points after 13 games. Since then, the team has been looked after by Michael Fink on an interim basis. However, the Regionalliga Südwest GbR refused Fink a special permit to continue to function as head coach until the end of the 2017/2018 season and to acquire the necessary coaching license on the side, so on January 4, 2018, SV Waldhof Mannheim signed Bernhard Trares as the new head coach. Trainer. The collaboration between Michael Fink and SV Waldhof Mannheim ended on the same day at Fink's request.

From February 2018, Fink was entrusted by FC Gießen with the establishment and management of a newly founded scouting department of the club in the Hessenliga. At the start of the 2018 season he moved to the squad of the Hessen League team at FC Gießen, where he was a regular from the start. In May 2019 he took over - temporarily until the end of the season - as an interim coach for the club division FC Hanau 93 . Since the 2019/2020 season, Michael Fink has been active as a player-coach for FC Hanau 93, which has since been promoted to the Hessen League.
