Mike Kahlhofen (born October 1, 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

youth

Kahlhofen came to Eintracht Frankfurt via the youth teams of Eintracht Oberursel and FC Oberursel . With Eintracht he became German A youth champion in 1982 with a 2-0 final victory against the youngsters of VfB Stuttgart . In the same year he took part with the German national youth team in the U-18 European Championship in Finland . Kahlhofen retired with the German team in the preliminary round and played all three group games.

professional

From Eintracht Jugend, Kahlhofen made the leap into the professional team. He made his debut in the Bundesliga on the 20th match day of the 1982/83 season when he was substituted on at the home game against Arminia Bielefeld . In the following years he could not prevail at the Eintracht and came on another mission. After the 1983/84 season Kahlhofen moved to KSV Hessen Kassel in the 2nd Bundesliga . After two years in Kassel, two years at Alemannia Aachen followed , also in the 2nd Bundesliga. Afterwards Kahlhofen played for Rot-Weiss Frankfurt in the Oberliga Hessen . Under coach Dragoslav Stepanović he was with the club in 1989/90 Hesse champion, but failed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga.

He ended his career at EFC Kronberg im Taunus, for which he was still active as a player-coach when he was over 40 years old.
