The 9th U-18 European Football Championship was held in England from July 18 to 25, 1993 . The host team won by beating defending champions Turkey 1-0 . Like Austria and Switzerland, Germany could not qualify. From this year onwards the tournament took place annually.

The eight qualified teams are divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team plays each other once. The two group winners reach the final while the runners-up play for third place.
