U-18 European Football Championship 2001

The 17th U-18 European Football Championship was held in Finland from July 21 to 29, 2001 . The winner was Poland by a 3: 1 victory over the Czech Republic . Germany , like defending champions France , Austria and Switzerland, could not qualify. The age limit of 18 years was the last time. For the following tournament, UEFA increased the age limit to 19 years.

mode

The eight qualified teams are divided into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups, each team plays each other once. The two group winners reach the final while the runners-up play for third place.
