Herbert Waas (born September 8, 1963 in Passau ) is a former German soccer player . He spent his career in the men's field from 1981 to 1995 mainly in Germany; with interruptions due to arrangements at FC Bologna in Italy and FC Zurich in Switzerland . Between 1983 and 1988 he played eleven times for the German national team.

Athletic career

Club career

His professional career began in 1981 at TSV 1860 Munich in the 2nd Bundesliga . He scored eleven goals in 35 games in his first and only season there and offered himself for a career in the football club .

Waas played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen from 1982 to 1990 . In 1988 the striker won the UEFA Cup with the Rhinelander . In the second leg of the final against Espanyol Barcelona , he was one of the goalscorers in the decisive penalty shoot-out. After the stop at Bayer 04, the attacker was under contract with FC Bologna , Hamburger SV , FC Zurich and 1. FC Dynamo Dresden .

In the top German division, the Bundesliga, Waas scored 74 goals in 247 games. In the Swiss Football native of Passau was 19 matches, including 15 in the National League A , chalk up.

Selection bets

Between 1983 and 1988 Waas made eleven senior internationals with five starting eleven appearances and six substitutions. His only goal was on October 15, 1986 in a 2-2 draw against Spain in Hanover . For the Olympic team , the offensive team played its only game against Israel in 1983 and scored a goal in a 2-0 victory.
