Raisio [ ˈrɑi̯siɔ ] (Finnish), Swedish Reso , is a city in southwestern Finland. It is a northwest suburb of the city of Turku .
Raisio is a twin town of Elmshorn .
The oldest known records of settlement in the region date back to 1292 , and there is evidence that people lived here as early as the Iron Age. The church of Raisio dates from the early 16th century. In 1974 Raisio was declared a city.
