Marco Tuokko (born March 27, 1979 in Raisio ) is a Finnish ice hockey player who was last under contract with Mora IK in HockeyAllsvenskan until 2011 .
Career
Marco Tuokko started his career as a hockey player in the youth department of TPS Turku . As a junior player, he came on loan to seven missions between 1995 and 1997, in which he scored three goals and provided a template for Kiekko-67 in the I divisioona, the second Finnish division. In the 1998-99 season, the winger made his debut for the first team of TPS in the SM-liiga and was in his rookie year at first Finnish Champion with his team. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the seventh round as a total of 219th player by the Dallas Stars , but stayed with TPS Turku, with whom he won the Finnish championship two more times in the 1999/2000 and 2000/01 seasons . In the following years he was a permanent fixture in the TPS team, but did not get with his team beyond a runner-up in the 2003/04 season .
From 2005 to 2008 Tuokko was under contract with Mora IK in the Swedish Elitserien . After the club was relegated, he moved to MODO Hockey within the Elitserien , for which he was on the ice for two years. In the 2010/11 season, the 1997 European junior champion ran for his ex-club Mora IK in the second-rate HockeyAllsvenskan .
International
For Finland Tuokko took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championship in 1997 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 1999 . At the U18 European Championship in 1997 he won the gold medal with his team.
