Heiko Ernst

Heiko Ernst (* 1948 in Rastatt ) is a German psychologist, journalist and non-fiction author. From 1979 to 2014 he was editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Psychologie Heute .

Ernst studied psychology and sociology at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Kentucky . After completing his studies as a qualified psychologist, he worked for two years on a psychotherapeutic research project at the University of Heidelberg before joining the editorial team of the popular science journal Psychologie Heute in 1975 . In 1979 Ernst became editor-in-chief of this magazine. At the end of 2014, he retired as an editor, but continues to work as an author for Psychology Today and co-maintainer of her blog. Ernst has published a number of psychological non-fiction books for general publishers. He is speaker of the Institute for Religiosity in Psychiatry & Psychotherapy .
