Ignacio Camacho Barnola (born May 4, 1990 in Saragossa ) is a Spanish soccer player who has been under contract with VfL Wolfsburg since July 2017 .
Career
society
Camacho started his career in 2001 with the club in his hometown of Real Zaragoza . In 2005, the Atlético Madrid scouts noticed him and brought him to their youth department. On March 1, 2008 he made his debut on the 4-2 victory over the great FC Barcelona in the Primera División . Just two months earlier he had signed his first professional contract. On May 3, a day before his 18th birthday, Atletico scored his first two goals in a 3-0 win over Recreativo Huelva .
After performing well, he spent most of the 2008-09 season on the bench. The then coach Javier Aguirre preferred the Portuguese Maniche and newcomer Éver Banega to him. In February 2009 the situation improved a little, as the new coach Abel Resino got into a conflict with Maniche and therefore deleted him from the squad. Still, he only made eight league appearances.
The 2009/10 season gave Camacho no chance to develop at Atletico. At the beginning of the season he was injured all the time, but after he was fit again it wasn't long before he got the next injury. Only twelve league games were the result. However, the season was very successful for his team. Atletico won 2-1 in extra time against Fulham in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League and reached the 2009/10 Copa del Rey final , which they lost 2-0 to Sevilla FC .
In preparation for the season he was substituted on for Simão in the 90th minute of the 2010 UEFA Super Cup final against Inter Milan . In the 2010/11 season he was not used in the first half of the Primera División and was then sold to FC Málaga in December 2010 , and his teammate Sergio Asenjo was awarded.
For the 2017/18 season Camacho moved to the German Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg . In early July 2017 he signed a contract with Wolves until 2021. There he made his debut in the 1-0 win against Eintracht Norderstedt in the first main round of the DFB Cup 2017/18 and immediately scored his first goal for Wolfsburg with the winning goal.
National team
Camacho led the U-17 team at both the 2007 U-17 European Football Championship in Belgium (one goal) and the 2007 U-17 World Cup in South Korea as captain. He also played two international matches for the U-20s and has been a member of the U-21 national team since 2008 , which has also played two times.
