After leaving his hometown Meaux at the age of 13 , Tisserand spent a few years at the Clairefontaine high-performance center . In 2009 he went to the youth department of AS Monaco , with which he won the A-Youth Cup Coupe Gambardella in 2011 . In June 2013 he signed his first professional contract with the Monegasque . Tisserand got his first minutes of play in Ligue 1 a few weeks later on August 10 when he was substituted on for Yannick Carrasco in stoppage time in the 2-0 away win at Girondins Bordeaux . By the end of the year he had five more missions as a full-back for the professional team.

At the beginning of the second half of the season, Tisserand was loaned to the then second division club RC Lens for six months , who at the end of the season achieved promotion to Ligue 1 with the help of Tisserand . Under coach Antoine Kombouaré , he made it to 12 starting eleven appearances, in which he was also used as a central defender for the first time. On March 8, 2014, Tisserand scored his first professional goal in the 69th minute in the away game at FC Metz , tantamount to the winning goal to make it 1-0.

Because of his convincing performance, they wanted to extend his loan in Lens by a year, but due to financial difficulties, the transfer did not take place despite prior agreement with the coach and the president. On July 25, 2014, Tisserand was therefore loaned out for one season to league rivals FC Toulouse , for which he played 25 games. In Toulouse , too , they were satisfied with the performance of the 22-year-old, who was used on both flanks in defense and midfield, and extended the loan for another year until June 2016. At the same time, Tisserand signed a new contract in Monaco until 2019 .

For the 2016/17 season Tisserand initially returned to Monaco, but then moved to FC Ingolstadt 04 shortly before the end of the transfer period . For the 2017/18 season , Tisserand was loaned from VfL Wolfsburg . At the end of November 2017, he was firmly committed and given a contract until June 30, 2022. For Wolfsburg, he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 2-0 win against 1. FC Nürnberg on May 4, 2019.

National team

After Tisserand had chosen his mother's homeland, he made his debut on May 30, 2013 for the U20 national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 1-0 defeat against France as part of the Tournoi Espoirs de Toulon . Tisserand played all four preliminary round games, but could not prevent the elimination.

On May 25, 2016, Tisserand played for the senior national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the first time in a friendly against Romania . He was in the starting line-up of coach Florent Ibengé and played 90 minutes in central defense. With the Congo he took part in the African Championship in January 2017.

Private

Tisserand is the son of a Congolese (Democratic Republic of the Congo) mother and a French father. He has three brothers and one sister. Patrick, one of his brothers, is also his advisor.

In addition to French , he speaks Lingála (his mother's mother tongue) and understands Kikongo , which he learned from his grandmother.
