Marin Pongračić (born September 11, 1997 in Landshut ) is a German - Croatian football player . The central defender is under contract with VfL Wolfsburg and played three times for the Croatian U21s .
Career
societies
Pongračić began his career at FC Bayern Munich . In 2013 he moved to the juniors of FC Ingolstadt 04 . After he had played his way up to the A-youth at Ingolstadt, he moved to the fourth-class second team of TSV 1860 Munich in summer 2016 .
In April 2017, Pongračić made his debut for the pros from 1860 in the 2nd Bundesliga when he was in the starting line-up against SV Sandhausen on matchday 29 of the 2016/17 season . At the end of the season he had to relegate with the Munich team after losing relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga. He was used in the relegation first leg against SSV Jahn Regensburg , but was sent off the field in the 80th minute after receiving a yellow card for the second time, and thus missed the second leg.
After relegation with the Lions and the subsequent failure to obtain a license for the 3rd division , the central defender moved to the Austrian Bundesliga for FC Red Bull Salzburg for the 2017/18 season , with whom he received a contract until June 30, 2021. With Salzburg, the defender was twice national champion and once cup winner, was able to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2018 , but did not fight for a regular place within the team.
For the second half of the 2019/20 season, Pongračić moved back to Germany for Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2024. His former club 1860 Munich is to share in the proceeds through a clause.
National team
Pongračić made his debut against Moldova for the Croatian U21 selection in August 2017 . By November 2018 he had a total of three missions.
