Omar Khaled Mohamed Marmoush ( Arabic عمر مرموش, DMG ʿUmar Marmūš ; * February 7, 1999 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian soccer player . The striker is under contract with VfL Wolfsburg in Germany and is a young international player.

Marmoush played until the age of 18 in his home country for the first division side Wadi Degla , for whom he completed 16 league games (2 goals). In the summer of 2017, he was signed by the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and given a contract valid until June 2020. Due to his professional experience, the striker was immediately used in the regional league team, but also played three times for the club's A-Juniors. In the spring of 2019 he took part in the relegation to the 3rd division with the Wolfsburg U23 as north champion , but where they failed at the champions of the Bavarian regional league , FC Bayern Munich II .

Until the season break ordered due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the Egyptian had nine goals and two assists in 15 fourth division games in the 2019/20 season until March 2020. Head coach Oliver Glasner nominated him twice for the first team squad, in the 4-1 away win in Leverkusen on matchday 28, Marmoush made his debut after a substitution in the closing stages for the Wolves . Since Mohamed Zidan first played for Werder Bremen in January 2005 , no Egyptian had made his debut in the top German division up to that point. As a result, the attacker came on further short deployments and received a contract extension until June 2023 shortly before the end of the season.
