Trophy for clubs: ÖFB-Pokal
Winner medal for players

The Austrian Football Association's Cup was played for the 84th time in the 2018/19 season. The 2018/19 season was also the centenary of the ÖFB Cup. The official name of the competition is "Uniqa ÖFB Cup" after the competition sponsor Uniqa , who has been supporting the competition since 2017. The slogan of the competition is “#GlaubeWilleMut” (“Goals for Europe” until 2017). The winner qualifies directly for the group stage of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League . If the cup winner is already qualified for the UEFA Europa League or the UEFA Champions League, the fifth place in the 2018/19 championship will take part in the qualification for the UEFA Europa League.

The defending champion was SK Sturm Graz , who last defeated FC Red Bull Salzburg 1-0 and were eliminated this year in the second round after a 2-0 defeat against FK Austria Wien . Last year's top scorer was Dario Tadić ( TSV Hartberg ) with five goals.

The FC Red Bull Salzburg won his sixth Cupgewinn, João Victor ( LASK ) was charged with six hits scorer.

Attendees

64 teams take part in the first round. The 12 teams of the Bundesliga (FC Admira Wacker Mödling, SCR Altach, SK Sturm Graz, TSV Hartberg, FC Wacker Innsbruck, LASK Linz, SV Koch Mattersburg, FC Red Bull Salzburg, SKN St. Pölten, FK Austria Vienna, SK Rapid Wien, Wolfsberger AC) and 12 teams of the second division (Floridsdorfer AC, FC Blau-Weiß Linz, Kapfenberger SV, SC Austria Lustenau, SC Wiener Neustadt, SK Austria Klagenfurt, SK Vorwärts Steyr, SKU Amstetten, SV Ried, SV Horn, SC Lafnitz, WSG Wattens). Only one team from the clubs in the first division is allowed to compete. This means that their second teams (FC Wacker Innsbruck, LASK Juniors and FK Austria Wien II) are not eligible to play. This also applies to FC Liefering, which is under the control of FC Red Bull Salzburg.

The remaining places were allocated to amateur clubs in the national associations according to a fixed key:

Each regional association's contingent of participants included the winners of the respective regional cups in 2017/18.

Bundesliga (12) 2nd division (12) State Cup Winner (9)
Regionalliga East (10) Regional League Middle (10) Regionalliga West (8)
National leagues (2) Remarks
Note 1According to the statutes, FC Liefering is independent, but since it is under the control of FC Red Bull Salzburg, it is to be regarded as the second club of FC Red Bull Salzburg. The promotion to the first division was approved by the ÖFB, but the club decided not to participate in the cup.

Draw mode

The first round will be drawn according to regional criteria. The 40 amateur clubs (regional leagues, regional leagues and II. League Burgenland) are divided into the groups East and West. The group east is made up of 23 clubs from Vienna , Lower Austria , Burgenland , Styria and Carinthia . The group west consists of the 17 clubs from Upper Austria , Salzburg , Tyrol and Vorarlberg . In order to achieve an even number of groups, a club of the Upper Austrian Football Association is allocated to the East region. In the first step five pairings are drawn from the east group and three pairings from the west group. In the second step, the clubs in the Bundesliga and the 2nd division will be drawn from the 24 remaining clubs.

The draw for the first round took place on July 4, 2018 as part of the Uniqa-ÖFB-Cup-Opening . The drawing was carried out by the ex-international Erich Obermayer under the supervision of the chairman of the ÖFB Cup committee Robert Sedlacek . The draw was broadcast live by ORF SPORT + .

1st round pairings

The first round games were played on Friday, 20th, Saturday, 21st and Sunday, 22nd July 2018.
