Diadie Samassékou (born January 11, 1996 in Bamako ) is a Malian football player . He is under contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and is a Malian national player .
Career
society
Samassékou started his career at AS Real Bamako . In August 2015 he moved to Austria for FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he received a contract that ran until May 2019. Initially, however, he should be used for the second-rate farm team FC Liefering . He made his debut in the second division in September 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Xaver Schlager in the 80th minute on the eighth day of the 2015/16 season against Floridsdorfer AC . By the end of the season he had made 25 appearances for Liefering.
For the 2016/17 season he was pulled up into the FC Red Bull Salzburg squad. He made his debut for the "Bulls" in July 2016 in the first leg of the second round of the 2016/17 Champions League qualification against FK Liepāja . He played his first game in the Bundesliga that same month against Wolfsberger AC . In his first season for Red Bull Salzburg he made 27 Bundesliga appearances and won the championship and cup double with the Salzburg team. In the 2017/18 season he made 29 appearances and was again champion with Salzburg.
In November 2018, the midfielder scored his first goal in the Bundesliga in a 4-0 win against TSV Hartberg . By the end of the 2018/19 season, he had played 26 games in the Bundesliga and scored one goal. This season he won the double again with Red Bull Salzburg.
In August 2019, the Malian moved to the German Bundesliga for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he received a contract that ran until June 2024.
National team
Samassékou came third at the 2015 World Cup with the Mali U20 . He made his senior national team debut in June 2014 against China . With the Malian U23 selection , he took part in the 2016 Toulon tournament.
In 2019 he took part in the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali's senior team. Samassékou appeared in three games, Mali failed in the round of 16 at Ivory Coast .
