Robert Skov (born May 20, 1996 in Marbella , Spain ) is a Danish football player . The offensive and defensive winger , who can be used variably, is under contract with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in Germany and is a Danish national player.

Career

Skov moved from Sejs-Svejbæk IF to the “talent development system” of the partner club Silkeborg IF at the age of 13 and made his debut in May 16, 2013 at 1-1 on the 32nd matchday of the 2012/13 Superliga season against FC Midtjylland Men's area. At the end of the season he rose with Silkeborg IF in the 1st division (second highest Danish division) and a year later again. In the 2014/15 season Skov came to 24 appearances and one goal; Silkeborg IF rose again from the 1st division. In the second division season 2015/16 Skov conquered a regular place and played as in the previous season in 24 games; with two assists and six goals he contributed to the direct resurgence. In the following season Skov managed to stay up with the middle Jutes and after the first half of the 2017/18 season he left the club.

In January 2018 Skov moved to FC Copenhagen and signed a contract until 2020. Skov quickly fought for a regular place with the Copenhageners, but missed the championship title with the Danish top club. In the 2018/19 season he scored 30 goals in 34 games in the regular season and in the championship round, making him top scorer and making a significant contribution to winning the Danish championship. After deducting the qualifying games, Robert Skov made eight UEFA Europa League appearances at FC Copenhagen in a year and a half.

In July 2019, after three league matches in the Danish Superliga , the striker moved to the German Bundesliga for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , where he received a contract with a term until July 30, 2024. In Hoffenheim he also quickly became a regular player. On matchday 10 he scored his first Bundesliga goal with a direct free kick in a 3-0 win against SC Paderborn . Half of his 16 first round appearances were completed by the otherwise more offensively deployed Dane under head coach Alfred Schreuder on the left defensive flank.

National team

Skov played five games for the Danish U18 national team and nine for the U19 . On January 20, 2016, he made his debut for the Danish U21 national team in a goalless draw in the friendly against Ukraine in Belek, Turkey . At the U21 European Championship 2019 in Italy and San Marino , he was used in all three of his team's games, and in the group stage in the opening game against eventual finalists Germany he scored the goal to make it 3-1 with a penalty. The Danes were eliminated as the worst runners-up in the group after the group stage.

In June 2019, the attacker ran for the first time for the A selection of his home country.

Private

Skov was born in Marbella, Spain, because his father was employed there at the time. At the age of six months he moved back to Denmark with the family.
