Career

society

Kristiansen, who acts as a two-footed attacking midfielder, comes from the youth of Ølgod IF . In 1996 he moved to the Danish first division club Esbjerg fB as a youth player . In 2001 he made his debut in the Danish Super League and immediately established himself as a regular player. In 2003 he was the league's top scorer with 18 goals.

After 150 appearances and 45 goals in Denmark's top division, he moved to the German Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg before the start of the second half of the 2005/06 season . On February 5, 2006 he made his debut in the game at Hannover 96 . By the end of the season he had another seven missions. In the 2006/07 season Kristiansen came to twenty league games, where he was used six times over the full time. He experienced the high point of his career in Nuremberg on May 26, 2007 in the final for the 2006/07 DFB Cup against VfB Stuttgart , when he scored the decisive goal to make it 3-2 with a long-range shot in extra time (109th minute of play). It was the only competitive goal he scored for 1. FC Nürnberg. In the 2007/08 season he came to 19 missions; at the end of the season, the team was relegated. In the UEFA Cup 2007/08 Kristiansen played five times, and came into the Round of the club.

During his time in Nuremberg he played in various positions, from various midfield positions to full defense. After relegation from the first division, he left the club on a free transfer.

He signed a five-year contract with Brøndby IF in summer 2008. In his first season he came as a regular player to 32 appearances and scored seven goals, including a hat trick against Sønderjysk Elitesport . In the UEFA Cup he was eliminated with Brøndby IF in the first round against the Norwegian record champions Rosenborg BK . In the following two seasons, Jan Kristiansen shuttled between the starting line-up and the bench. He left with the club from the commune of the same name in the " bacon belt " of Copenhagen in the play-offs for the UEFA Europa League against Hertha BSC and Sporting Lisbon . In his fourth season at Brøndby IF, Jan Kristiansen lost his place and played only eight times from the start in 20 games (one goal). Also this season Brøndby IF could not qualify for the group stage of a European competition when they were eliminated in the third qualifying round for the Europa League against the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Ried . After a 2-0 defeat in Ried in the second leg in front of their own audience, despite a goal and an assist from Kristiansen, a 4-2 win due to the away goals rule was not enough to reach the play-offs. The re-qualification for the international business was also missed and at times Brøndby IF went in danger of relegation. The 2012/13 season formed the last season of Jan Kristiansen in the jersey of the Copenhagen suburb club: Again he played in 20 games, where he was denied a goal.

In the summer of 2013 he joined FC Vestsjælland . During his first season in Slagelse in southwest Zealand , Kristiansen played 25 games, shuttling between the starting eleven and the reserve bank. A season later he was one of the regular players with 31 games (one goal). At the end of July 2015, Kristiansen joined the second division club FC Roskilde and played 29 games (three goals) in the Danish second division. After that he finally ended his football career.

National team

Kristiansen completed a total of 24 missions for Danish youth national teams (three for the U-19 , four for the U-20 and 17 for the U-21 ).

On February 12, 2003, he was used for the first time for the Danish national team in a friendly game in Egypt, which was won 4-1 . In October 2004 he played two games in the qualification for the 2006 World Cup , in 2007 he played in the qualification for the European Championship 2008 . His eleventh and last appearance for the national team was a friendly against Ireland on August 22, 2007.
