Jérôme Junior Onguéné (born December 22, 1997 in Mbalmayo ) is a Cameroonian - French soccer player who has been under contract with FC Red Bull Salzburg since August 2017 and has been playing internationally for Cameroon since 2018 .
Career
societies
Onguéné moved from AS Illzach Modenheim to FC Sochaux in 2009 . At the age of 17, he first played for the Sochaux B team in the Championnat de France Amateur and made his debut for the club's first team on August 12, 2014 in the Coupe de la Ligue .
On January 31, 2017, Jérôme Onguéné moved to VfB Stuttgart and signed a contract with the Swabians dated until June 2020.
In August 2017 it was awarded to the Austrian Bundesliga club FC Red Bull Salzburg . First he played for the second-rate cooperation club FC Liefering , for which he made his debut in September 2017, when he was in the starting line-up against Kapfenberger SV on matchday ten of the 2017/18 season and was replaced by Nico Gorzel at half-time .
For the 2018/19 season , FC Red Bull Salzburg acquired the transfer rights to Onguéné and provided him with a contract that runs until June 30, 2022.
National team
From the U-16 to the U-20, Onguéné was active in all of France's junior selections. At the U-19 European Championship in 2016 , he was the European champion with France as a regular player.
After playing U-20 internationals for France in 2017, Onguéné decided to change associations in August 2018 and was nominated for the senior national team of Cameroon for the first time . On October 12, 2018, he made his debut for Cameroon in qualifying for the Africa Cup against Malawi , when he was in the starting line-up and was replaced by Collins Fai in the 70th minute .
