Maximilian Wöber (born February 4, 1998 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Wöber started his career at SZ Marswiese . In 2007 he moved to the Vienna Sports Club . In 2010 he joined the youth team at SK Rapid Vienna . In the summer of 2015 he played for the Rapidler regional league team for the first time. In December 2015 he was in the professional squad for the first time. At the end of February 2016, he made his debut in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 against Valencia CF when he was in the starting line-up. On April 5, 2016, he signed his first professional contract with the Green-Whites, which ran until summer 2019.

In November 2016, he finally made his debut in the Bundesliga when he started against Wolfsberger AC on matchday 14 of the 2016/17 season . He scored his first Bundesliga goal on July 22, 2017, when he scored 1-0 in the 2-2 draw against SV Mattersburg on the first day of the 2017/18 season .

In August 2017 he moved to Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands , where he received a contract valid until June 2021. The transfer fee was around 7.5 million euros.

On January 11, 2019, an agreement was reached with Sevilla FC to move to Spain . On January 16, 2019, Wöber finally switched to Seville on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season, and a purchase obligation with a transfer fee of ten and a half million euros was agreed on July 1, 2019. The transfer fee could have increased by up to 500,000 euros under various circumstances. For Sevilla he played seven games in the Primera División .

In August 2019 he returned to Austria and switched to FC Red Bull Salzburg , with whom he received a contract that ran until May 2024.

National team

Wöber played for the Austrian U-15 team for the first time in 2013 . In the same year he also made his debut for the U-16 team .

In 2015 he played against Iceland for the first time for the U-17 team . With this he took part in the EM in the same year .

He was also used for the first time for Austria's U-18 team this year . In July 2016 he played against Portugal for the U-19 team for the first time .

In October of the same year he was in the squad of the U-21 national team for the first time .

In August 2017, Wöber was appointed to the senior national team for the first time . He made his national team debut on October 6, 2017, when he started the World Cup qualifier against Serbia .

In November 2017, Wöber made his debut against Serbia for Austria's U-21 selection.
