Alex Sobczyk (born May 20, 1997 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player of Polish descent.
Career
Sobczyk began his career at the Vienna sports club . In 2007 he moved to SK Rapid Vienna . In 2014 he played for the regional league team for the first time. In 2015 he moved to the second division FC Liefering . He made his professional debut on the first day of the 2015/16 season against SK Austria Klagenfurt . In January 2016 he returned to SK Rapid Wien II, where he signed a contract that was valid until June 2018.
In February 2017 he made his debut for the professionals from Rapid in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Arnór Ingvi Traustason in the 82nd minute against FC Admira Wacker Mödling on matchday 22 of the 2016/17 season .
In August 2017 he was awarded to the league competitor SKN St. Pölten . In January 2018 he was awarded as a cooperation player to the second division club SC Wiener Neustadt .
In August 2018 he was awarded to the second division club Floridsdorfer AC . For the 2019/20 season he moved to Slovakia to Spartak Trnava . There he made his debut in the Fortuna league in July 2019 against ŠKF Sereď . For Trnava, he made a total of 25 appearances in the Fortuna league. After the 2019/20 season, he terminated his contract in Slovakia. He then moved to Poland to Górnik Zabrze for the 2020/21 season , where he received a contract that ran until June 2023.
Personal
His brother Maciej (* 1990) played for St. Pölten in the second division . Alex Sobczyk was born in 1997 in Vienna to Polish parents .
