Husein Balić (born February 15, 1996 in Linz ) is an Austrian - Bosnian football player .
Career
society
Balić began his career at SK Vorwärts Steyr . In 2010 he came to AKA Linz , where he played until 2013. In October 2012 he also made his debut against SV Gmunden for his regular club Vorwärts Steyr in the Upper Austrian League . At the end of the season he rose to the regional league with Steyr .
For the 2015/16 season he moved to the second division SKN St. Pölten . In the Lower Austrians, however, he was initially used for the third-rate amateurs, for whom he made his debut in September 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Oliver Markoutz on the sixth match day of that season against ASK Ebreichsdorf in the 84th minute . In October 2015 Balić tore a cruciate ligament after suffering the same injury in January 2015.
Meanwhile, the SKN rose to the Bundesliga . In December 2016 he was in the professional squad for the first time. His first appearance after his injury was only in March 2017 for the amateurs against SKU Amstetten . He finally made his debut in the Bundesliga in September 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Damir Mehmedovic in the 85th minute against FC Admira Wacker Mödling on the ninth matchday of the 2017/18 season .
In January 2020 he switched to league competitor LASK , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2024.
National team
In March 2019, Balić made his debut against Spain for the Austrian U-21 selection .

In July 2018 Balić received Austrian citizenship .
