Philipp Wiesinger (born May 23, 1994 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian football player . His home position is left defender, but he can also be used in the other defensive positions.

Wiesinger began his career at ASVÖ FC Puch . In 2006 he switched to the youth team at FC Red Bull Salzburg , where he would later play in the academy. In May 2012 he made his debut for the amateurs of Salzburg in the Regionalliga when he came on as a substitute for Arif Sari on the 28th matchday of the 2011/12 season against FC Pinzgau Saalfelden in the 90th minute. This was his only season use.

For the 2012/13 season he moved to the regional division USK Anif . For Anif he completed 25 games in the regional league that season. For the 2013/14 season Wiesinger moved to the second division club FC Liefering , the farm team of FC Red Bull Salzburg. In September 2013, he made his debut in the second division when he was in the starting line-up against SV Mattersburg on the tenth day of that season . On the following day he scored his first second division goal in a 4-2 win against SV Horn . By the end of the season he came to 24 appearances in the second division, in which he scored a goal.

In the 2014/15 season he completed 31 games for Liefering, in which he scored one goal. After a further 14 appearances in the 2015/16 season, he switched to league competitor LASK in January 2016 . There he did not appear on the scene until the end of the season due to injury. Nevertheless, he was firmly committed by the Upper Austrians in May 2016. After several months of injury, he made his comeback for the amateurs in the Regionalliga in October 2016 . In the same month he finally played against SC Wiener Neustadt for the first time for LASK in the second division. By the end of the season he had ten missions for the professionals and four for the amateurs; with the pros, he rose to the Bundesliga at the end of the season .

After promotion, he made his debut in the top division in September 2017, when he was in the starting line-up against Red Bull Salzburg on matchday 11 of the 2017/18 season and was replaced by Bruno in the 83rd minute . By the end of the season he made 20 appearances in the Bundesliga and two for the amateurs in the Regionalliga. With the LASK he had qualified in the promotion season as fourth for the qualification for the UEFA Europa League , in which you failed in the third round at Beşiktaş Istanbul . Wiesinger was not used in the Europa League qualification. In August 2018, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga in a 2-1 win against SK Rapid Wien . In the 2018/19 season, he made 28 appearances in which he scored three goals. With the LASK he finished the season as runner-up and thus took part in the qualification for the UEFA Champions League in the 2019/20 season. There they defeated FC Basel in the third round , but failed in the playoff at Club Bruges . Wiesinger was used in all four games.

National team

Wiesinger made his only appearance for the Austrian U-21 team against Qatar in March 2015 .
