The Qatari U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Qatari soccer players . It reports to the Qatari football association QFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams from other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympics and the Asian Games .
So far, the team has been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament once, reaching the quarter-finals in 1992 . Qatar took part in the U-23 Asian Cup three times and finished third in 2018 . The gold medal was won at the Asian Games in 2006 .
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Qatari citizenship.
