The Indian U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Indian soccer players . It is subordinate to the Indian Football Association AIFF and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games , the Asian Games and the South Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament or the U-23 Asian Cup. At the South Asian Games in 2016 , the team won the silver medal for the first time. India took part in the Asian Games four times and made it to the round of 16 in 2010 .
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Indian citizens .
