Football at the Asian Games

At the Asian Games, soccer is one of the sports that has always been part of the program of the Games. Participants are the national footballteams of the AFC associations organizedwithin FIFA . Since 1990 there has also been a women's soccer tournament, which in 1994 was also the qualification of the Asia zone for the 1995 women's soccer world championship . Since the tournament of the Games in 2002, an age limit of 23 years has been ineffect for the men's teams, analogous to the regulation for the Olympic football tournament , whereby three older players may be used.
