Football at the South American Games
At the South American Games, football is one of the sports that has been in the program of the Games since 1978 with one interruption. In addition to the tenassociations organizedin CONMEBOL , theparticipants arealso the teams from the countries on the South American subcontinent, Aruba , Bonaire (previously: Netherlands Antilles ), Guyana , Panama and Suriname . The tournament is held every four years. A tournament in women's football took place for the first time in 2014. From the beginning, an age limitwas applied to the men's teams, analogous to the regulation at the Olympic football tournament , but in the end it was 20 years.
