Football at the Central America Games
At the Central American Games, football is one of the sports that has been part of the program of the Games since 1973. Participants are the seven national footballteams of the CONCACAF associations from Central America,which areorganizedin FIFA . Similar to the Central America and Caribbean Games, the tournament is playedat irregular intervals and serves as a Central American qualification for these. A tournament in women's football has been held since 2001. From the beginning, an age limitwas applied to the men's teams, analogous to the rules at the Olympic soccer tournament , but here of 21 years.
