Football at the Central African Games
Football was one of the sports at the Central African Games that had been in the program of the Games since 1976. Eleven Central African countries were eligible to participate. The tournament was played three times at irregular intervals. A first edition under the name "Central Africa-Cup" in 1972 had unofficial character and served, as well as the tournament in 1987, when qualification for the football tournament of the African Games . A tournament in women's football did not take place.
