The Vietnamese U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Vietnamese soccer players . It is subordinate to the Vietnamese Football Association VFF and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian Championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games , the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games .

So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament. Vietnam took part twice in the U-23 Asian Cup and finished second in 2018 . At the Southeast Asian Games in 2003 , 2005 and 2009 , the team won the silver medal. Vietnam took part in the Asian Games five times and finished fourth in 2018 .

Eligible are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Vietnamese citizens .
