The United Arab Emirates U-23 national soccer team is a select team of Emirati soccer players . It is subordinate to the Emirati football association UAEFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympics and the Asian Games .
So far, the team has been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament once, but did not get beyond the group stage in 2012 . The Emirates took part twice in the U-23 Asian Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in 2014 and 2016 . At the Asian Games, the silver medal was won in 2010 and the bronze medal in 2018 .
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Emirati citizens.
