The Hong Kong U-23 National Football Team is a selection team of football players from the Hong Kong SAR China . It is subordinate to the Hong Kong Football Association HKFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games , the Asian Games and the East Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament or the U-23 Asian Cup. At the East Asian Games 2009 , the team won the gold medal for the first time. Hong Kong took part in the Asian Games five times and made it to the round of 16 in 2010 , 2014 and 2018 .
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23.
