The Lao U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Lao soccer players . It is subordinate to the Laotian Football Association LFF and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the football tournaments of the Summer Olympic Games , the Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Games .
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic football tournament or the U-23 Asian Cup. At the Southeast Asian Games in 2009 , the team reached fourth place for the first time. Laos took part in the Asian Games twice, but were eliminated from both in the group stage.
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Laotian citizens .
