Career

society

Grgic began his club career in September 2002 at FC Wels . After years of being active in its offspring and having gone through all youth divisions, he made the leap into the adult division towards the end of the 2010/11 season and made his debut for the second combat team. On June 5, 2011 he made his competitive debut in men's football in the 24th of 26 championship rounds, when he was on the field from the start in a 6-1 away win over ASKÖ SC Kirchberg-Thening , in the 36th minute with one Yellow card was cautioned and replaced in the 78th minute of play for Stefan Auerböck. In the last two games of the 2010/11 season he was used over the full playing time and ended the season with the team in fifth place in the table of the seventh- class Upper Austrian 1st class middle . After he was mainly used in the second combat team in the following season 2011/12, he made his debut in the first team with play in the third-class regional league middle on April 25, 2012 . He came on as a substitute for Michael Lebersorg in the 92nd minute in the 3-2 away win over SK Austria Klagenfurt shortly before the end of the game . Before and after that, he was no longer available to the squad in any other regional league game and played in the seventh division until the end of the season. In this he brought it to inserts in 23 of the 26 championship games, where he contributed two hits. In the final ranking of the seventh- class Upper Austrian 1st Class Mittewest , he and the team ranked third, only three points behind the champions ASKÖ Vorchdorf and two points behind the second-placed Union Allhaming . His first competitive goal in men's football was on March 24, 2012 in a 5-0 home win over Union Rohr .

In the summer before the 2012/13 season he moved on loan within the city of Wels for here also active WSC Hertha Wels . At the former professional club, Grigic was used as a regular in the first team in the fifth-class Landesliga West from the start. Although his 22 of 26 possible league appearances, where he scored one goal, he did not manage to keep the league with the team and rose to last place in the district league south , the sixth highest division, where it rose again after only one season - but without Grgic who had switched back to his home club - managed. However, his return to the parent club did not last long, as a new change was already fixed at this point. This time it went to SV Wallern in the third-class Regionalliga Mitte, where he became a regular player straight away. At the club from the Upper Austrian market town of Wallern an der Trattnach , the left-footed player, mostly used as a defensive midfielder, made 28 league appearances. Only in two of the 30 championship games was he not part of the regional league squad due to two yellow card suspensions ; Overall, he received eleven yellow cards in this 2013/14 season , which he completed with the team in fourth place in the table, and also scored a goal for his team. With his eleven yellows he was one of the most frequently cautioned players in the entire league this season. After the year in Wallern, the next change followed within Upper Austria.

This time he switched to the promoted team in professional football, LASK . With the Linzers, he was often unused on the bench, especially at the beginning of the 2014/15 season , but was mostly used in the second combat team in the Regionalliga Mitte. By the end of the season he had made 19 league appearances for SPG FC Pasching / LASK Juniors , where he contributed two goals. For the professionals, he only made his competitive debut on matchday 15. In the 2-0 home win over SV Horn on October 21, 2014, Grgic was brought into play for Peter Michorl in the 88th minute by the coach of the Linz leaders, Karl Daxbacher . In the further course of the season he was used once for the full length of the game and twice for a half and also sat a few more times unused on the bench of the second division club. While he finished second in the table with the professionals, he reached ninth place with the amateurs. The following 2015/16 season was almost like the previous one for Grgic. Mainly he brought it to missions for the amateurs, where he mostly acted in his traditional position in defensive midfield, but was often used in defensive positions. After he was out for a few rounds due to an injury in September 2015, he was back on the professional bench for the first time since the 2014/15 season on October 16, 2015. After another game on the bench, he made his first short appearances for the professional team in the Austrian second division in early November 2015. Immediately after the winter break, he had his first long outing at the end of February 2016 when he played 85 minutes. He then sat on the bench a few times until the beginning of April 2016 and made two more league appearances by then, including a short appearance and a full 90-minute deployment as a central defender in a 2-1 home win over Austria Salzburg . After he was mainly present again with the amateurs, he came to another half of the game in the last championship round. By the end of the season he had made seven - for him personally goalless - championship appearances in the first division and finished the season with the Linzers in second place behind the SKN St. Pölten . For the SPG FC Pasching / LASK Juniors it was enough for a fifth place in the final ranking of the partly quite tightly staggered Regionalliga Mitte.

After Grgic first appeared in a regional league game and ten second division games in the 2016/17 season in which he had scored three goals, he suffered a concussion in October 2016 and was therefore out for a week. In the game against WSG Wattens on matchday 15, Grgic was back in the professional squad. He finally played his first game after the injury break in November 2016 against Floridsdorfer AC , against whom he was brought into play in stoppage time for Thomas Mayer .

With LASK, he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2017 .

In August 2017 Grgic was awarded to the second division club SV Ried . After the loan ended, he was firmly committed. For the 2019/20 season, he moved to the Bundesliga club WSG Tirol . For the Tyroleans he played 19 Bundesliga games. At the end of the season, however, he rose with the club from the top division.

He then switched back to LASK for the 2020/21 season, where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.

National team

In 2015 Grgic was called up for the first time in the Austrian U-20 national team . He was nominated for the injured Kalwanger Thomas Gösweiner in the squad, which was already at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand .
