Peter Michorl (born May 9, 1995 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player . He has been playing for LASK since 2014 .

Career

society

Michorl started his career at SV Gerasdorf / Stammersdorf . In January 2004 he joined the youth team of FK Austria Wien , where he would later play in the academy. In November 2011 he made his debut for the amateurs of Austria in the Regionalliga when he came on as a substitute for Martin Harrer on the 15th matchday of the 2011/12 season against SC-ESV Parndorf 1919 in the 75th minute . In April 2012 he scored his first goal in the regional league in a 2-1 win against SC Neusiedl am See . By the end of the season he came to 15 missions for the amateurs, in which he scored a goal.

In the 2012/13 season he played 26 regional league games, in which he scored five goals. He was also used for the U-18s of Austria for the last time in March 2013. In the 2013/14 season he came to 22 appearances for the amateurs, in which he scored eight goals. He also played with the U-19 team of Austria in the UEFA Youth League , in which they failed in the round of 16 at Benfica Lisbon . Michorl was used in all seven games of the Viennese and scored three goals.

For the 2014/15 season he moved into the professional squad of Austria. In September 2014, his contract, which ran until June 2015, was extended to June 2016 and he switched to the second division LASK on loan . He made his debut in the second division in the same month when he was in the starting line-up against Floridsdorfer AC on matchday nine of the 2014/15 season . By the end of the season he made 24 appearances for LASK in the second highest division.

For the 2015/16 season he was firmly signed by the Upper Austrians. In April 2016, he scored his first goal in the second division in a 2-1 win against Kapfenberger SV . In the 2015/16 season he made 28 appearances in the second division, in which he scored a goal. In the 2016/17 season he made 32 league appearances in which he scored three goals. At the end of the season he rose to the Bundesliga as a second division champion with LASK . He made his Bundesliga debut in July 2017 when he started against FC Admira Wacker Mödling on matchday one of the 2017/18 season. In the game that LASK won 3-0, Michorl also scored his first Bundesliga goal. In the 2017/18 season he made 34 Bundesliga appearances in which he scored nine goals. At the end of the season he finished fourth with the LASK and thus took part in qualifying for the Europa League . He played his first international competition match in July 2018 in the second round first leg against Lillestrøm SK . With the LASK he was eliminated in the third round against Beşiktaş Istanbul .

In the 2018/19 season he made 31 Bundesliga appearances, only on the 22nd matchday he was banned from SCR Altach . With the LASK he finished the season as runner-up and thus took part in the qualification for the UEFA Champions League in the 2019/20 season. There they defeated FC Basel in the third round , but failed in the playoff at Club Bruges . Michorl was used in all four games.

National team

Michorl played for an Austrian national youth team for the first time in September 2010. In September 2011 he made his debut against Slovenia for the U-17 selection , for which he came to six missions until October 2011. In April 2012 he played against Germany for the first time for the U-18 team . For this he came to five missions until April 2013.

In September 2013 he came against Northern Ireland for the first time for the U-19 selection . With this he also took part in the EM in 2014 . In this he came to three missions in which he scored a goal. With Austria he failed in the semifinals at the eventual winner Germany . By participating in the semi-finals, Austria was also qualified for the 2015 U-20 World Cup . He played his first game for the U-20 team in March 2015 against Mexico . Michorl was also nominated for the World Cup, where he was used. Austria failed in the second round to Uzbekistan .

In May 2016 he played his only game for the U-21 team against Serbia .

Personal

His uncle Josef (* 1966) played for Eisenstadt and Admira / Wacker in the Bundesliga . Michorl is the father of a son (* 2014).
