Mario Stefel (born February 8, 1996 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Stefel began his career at VfB Admira Wacker Mödling . For the 2007/08 season he switched to the youth team at SK Rapid Wien , where he also played in the academy from the 2010/11 season. In February 2012 he switched to the youth team of SC Team Wiener Linien .

For the 2013/14 season Stefel moved to the fifth class amateurs of SC Wiener Neustadt . In his first season at Wiener Neustadt II he made 19 appearances in the 2nd regional league , in which he scored two goals. In the 2014/15 season he made 25 appearances in the fifth highest division and scored eight times. For the 2015/16 season he was promoted to the professional squad of the second division. He made his second division debut in August 2015 when he came on as a substitute for Danijel Klarić in the 80th minute against FC Liefering on matchday six that season . In September 2015 he scored his first goal in the second-highest division in a 3-1 defeat against SC Austria Lustenau . By the end of the season he made 23 appearances for the professionals, in which he scored three goals, he also played three games for the amateurs and made two goals.

In the 2016/17 season he made 31 appearances in the second division, in which he scored five goals. In the 2017/18 season he made 29 second division games for Wiener Neustadt and scored five times. With the Lower Austrians he reached the promotion relegation in that season, but failed in the Bundesliga club SKN St. Pölten . Stefel was used in the relegation in the first leg. In that season he was also used twice for the amateurs, who were relegated from the fifth-highest division at the end of the season. In the 2018/19 season Stefel made 21 appearances in the 2nd division and scored five goals. Wiener Neustadt rose at the end of the season, however, forcibly in the regional league , whereupon he left the club after 104 second division games.

For the 2019/20 season he then moved to the second division club SV Horn . After a season at Horn, he moved to Bundesliga club SCR Altach for the 2020/21 season .
