Berkay Tolga Dabanlı (born June 27, 1990 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German - Turkish soccer player .

Career

Berkay Dabanlı was born to Turkish parents in Frankfurt am Main. Here he started playing football in the youth teams of various local clubs and, after scouts noticed him, switched to the youth team at FSV Frankfurt . In summer 2009 he was accepted into the reserve team FSV Frankfurt II and made 29 league games in his first season.

In the 2010/11 season he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Here he played exclusively in the reserve team Bayer 04 Leverkusen II.

For the 2011/12 season he signed the Turkish first division club Kayserispor . In his first year, he played two league games and one cup game towards the end of the season. After one and a half seasons for Kayserispor, he separated from this club by mutual agreement.

At the end of January 2013, Dabanlı signed a contract with the German Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg until the end of the 2012/13 season , which was extended to 2015 a little later. He played his first Bundesliga game on February 3, after which he played several times until the end of the season. In the following season he was in the first three games, but then had to give way to the more experienced central defenders and mostly only sat on the bench.

After Nürnberg missed relegation in the summer of 2014, Dabanlı also left the club and moved to Turkey to the first division side Eskişehirspor . In summer 2016 he returned to this club and received a three-year contract. Here he played three league games until the break of the season and, in the winter transfer period 2016/17, terminated his contract by mutual agreement.

On January 31, 2017, his move to Chemnitzer FC was announced, where he remained until the end of the season. For the 2017/18 season Dabanli went to league rivals Rot-Weiß-Erfurt . However, he was suspended during the winter break.

At the start of the 2018/19 season, Dabanli moved back to Turkey, where he signed a contract with the first division club Boluspor . In January 2019 he moved again to Eskişehirspor in the second Turkish division. After 18 appearances for Eskişehirspor in the TFF 1. Lig , he moved to Austria for Bundesliga club SCR Altach in January 2020 .
