Manuel Thurnwald (born July 16, 1998 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Thurnwald began his career at SK Rapid Vienna . After playing in the academy before, he made his debut for the second team in the Regionalliga in March 2016.

In November 2016, he was appointed to the professional squad for the first time due to an injury to Mario Pavelic . He made his debut on November 3, 2016 on the fourth match day of the 2016/17 Europa League against the US Sassuolo Calcio , when he was called up in the starting line-up. He made his Bundesliga debut three days later, when he was back in the starting line-up against Wolfsberger AC on matchday 14 .

In July 2019 he switched to league competitor SCR Altach , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.

National team

Thurnwald made his debut against Ireland for the Austrian U-19 selection in September 2016 . In June 2017 he played his first game for the U-21 team against Hungary .

In March 2019 he played against Norway for the first time for the U-20 team .

Personal

His father Thomas (* 1960) played for the Vienna Sports Club in the Bundesliga .
