The FC Sohm Alberschwende is a football club from the Vorarlberg community Alberschwende in the district Bregenz . The club belongs to the Vorarlberg Football Association (VFV) and has been playing in the fourth highest level, the Vorarlbergliga , since the 2018/19 season .
history
FC Alberschwende was founded in March 1965. In the same year they started for the first time in 1st class Unterland Reserve ; there was a cooperation with Langenegg. From 1966 they took part in 1st class Unterland for five seasons . In spring 1971 the Alberschwende could no longer compete due to fewer players.
Then you played with several clubs (including Andelsbuch ) in a new league called the Bregenzerwald League . In the first two seasons Alberschwende was champion, after that one could not build on these successes.
In 1982 you played in the forest league for the last time, because in 1981 you were promoted to champions.
After years in the lower house, in 2008 the champions were finally promoted from the sixth-class first national league to the fifth-class national league in front of their pursuers FC Schruns .
In the debut season in the national league you missed the march into the fourth division only narrowly; At the end of the season they were third only one point behind Master Dornbirn . The second season they finished third, this time four points behind the champions. In 2010/11 they finished fifth, but were a long way behind the promoted SC Austria Lustenau II . The next season was much more successful for Alberschwende, once again they missed the championship title by one point behind SC Fussach , but this time they were promoted to the Vorarlbergliga in second place .
The first season in the fourth-highest division ended in fourth place, as did the 2013/14 season. In the 2014/15 season you ended up eighth of 14 teams in the midfield of the league. In 2015/16 they took seventh place. In the 2016/17 season they were ten points behind champions FC Langenegg runner-up, but were allowed to move up to the third-class regional league for the first time due to the fact that Langenegg was not eligible for promotion .
After a season in the regional league, however, the bottom of the table had to relegate to the Vorarlbergliga.

Women's soccer
The women's team at FC Alberschwende was founded in 1971. It has already taken part in the ÖFB Ladies Cup several times . The section set up game communities again and again, e.g. B. with FC Egg in the 2004/05 season.
