The FC Andelsbuch (officially Simeoni Metal FC Andelsbuch ) is an Austrian football club from the district of Bregenz in Vorarlberg . He has been playing in the fourth-class Vorarlbergliga since 2013/14 . The club colors are blue and white. The team plays their home games at the sports field on the Bezegg .

history

The club was founded on September 2, 1962 in what was then Café Geser in the municipality of Andelsbuch and played in the Unterland class in autumn 1964.

In the 1999/2000 season, FC Andelsbuch was still playing in the 3rd national class, at that time it was the lowest league in Vorarlberg and the eighth highest level in the football league system in Austria . Successful years began for the club. After winning the championship title in the 3rd national class in the spring of 2000 and thus fixing the promotion to the 2nd national class, the march through and renewed promotion succeeded in the following season with a second place. After two years of consolidation in the 1st national class, FC Andelsbuch won the championship title in the 2003/04 season. The club thus played fifth class for the first time.

There were three average years before FC Andelsbuch reached second place behind champions FC Viktoria 62 Bregenz in the 2007/08 season and thus secured promotion to the Vorarlbergliga with just one point ahead of SV Lochau . There the team was located in the safe midfield three times in a row with a 7th place and two 8th places. In the 2011/12 season, FC Andelsbuch surprisingly played right from the start and, as the winter king, led a sextet of contenders for the title. After an exciting second half of the season, the club crowned Vorarlberg champions with a 2-0 away win at FC Nenzing two points ahead of FC Höchst on the last matchday . FC Andelsbuch celebrated its greatest success to date on the 50th anniversary of the club and also wrote Vorarlberg football history: It was the first football club from the Bregenzerwald to advance into the third-class Regionalliga West ; In 2013 and 2017 respectively, FC Bizau and FC Alberschwende managed to do this . The club had to relegate from this league after just one season , only because of the poorer goal difference compared to SV Wals-Grünau .

Stadion

When the club was founded in 1962, there was no suitable soccer field. This was only built in 1963/64 in the former tunnel excavation dump near the reservoir on the Bezegg and opened in autumn 1964 with the first championship games in the Unterland class. The infrastructure was gradually expanded in the 1980s and 1990s (including new cabins and floodlights in 1980, clubhouse renovation in 1996); In 2005 a new sports field was built at the same location.

Well-known players and coaches

At around the turn of the millennium, FC Andelsbuch decided that they wanted to play almost exclusively with their own players. Only four players in the squad are likely to come from outside the 2500-strong community. The sporting management stuck to this concept even after promotion to the regional league in 2012.
