Yusuf Otubanjo (born September 12, 1992 in Ijebu-Ode ) is a Nigerian football player .
Career
society
Otubanjo began his career at the Emmanuel Amunike Academy , a football forge for talented Nigerians under the leadership of former Nigerian national player Emmanuel Amunike . In 2009 he moved to Julius Berger FC , which he immediately left for Gateway FC Abeokuta. After only one season at Gateway FC, the striker moved to Crown FC.
In 2011 Otubanjo ventured to Europe and moved to Spain for Atlético Madrid's C team . After only one year, he left the Iberian Peninsula and went to Austria for FC Red Bull Salzburg . The Nigerian made his debut in the top Austrian division under coach Roger Schmidt on December 8, 2012 against SK Sturm Graz . He came on in the 77th minute for Norwegian Håvard Nielsen . The game in the Graz UPC Arena ended in a 1-1 draw. After only one game with the Bulls , he switched to FC Pasching in the Regionalliga Mitte on loan in winter 2013 . After his return to Wals-Siezenheim , his contract expired and he was without a club. In January 2015 he moved to FC Blau-Weiß Linz in the Regionalliga Mitte.
For the 2016/17 season he moved to Slovakia for MŠK Žilina . In February 2018 he returned to Austria, where he was awarded to the Bundesliga club SCR Altach .
After the loan ended, he switched to LASK for the 2018/19 season , where he received a contract that ran until June 2021. He made 21 Bundesliga appearances for LASK, scoring two goals. In January 2020 he moved to Armenia for FC Ararat-Armenia .
National team
Internationally, Otubanjo took part in the 2009 U-17 World Cup. He was substituted on against the New Zealand U-17s in the round of 16 and in the final against the Swiss U-17s . Switzerland won the final at the Abuja National Stadium with a goal from Haris Seferović 1-0. Nigeria became U-17 vice world champions with Otubanjo.
